My name is Margaret O’Connor I am an exhibited artist residing in a stunning part of Northern Ireland, my rural retreat where I live with my husband and three children. As far back as I can remember I have always enjoyed drawing and sketching and began painting as a hobby around twenty years ago but it wasn’t until I enrolled on an art course at the North West Regional College in Limavady that my paintings took on a life of their own.
After completing the University of Ulster certificate in fine & applied arts, I worked hard on developing a unique style of painting, an atmospheric style to create a distinctive mood within my paintings to evoke a particular/aesthetic quality. I usually paint from photographs adding my own interpretation and flare. I like my paintings to have an interaction of colour between the subject and the background creating colour harmony and a sense of movement within my paintings.
